Earle and Alvina Family Scholarship

Named for Earle and Alvina Aber, (Margery Aber's parents) this scholarship awards families who exemplify the Aber Suzuki Center's  philosophy that every child can learn given a loving, nurturing family who lives by the Suzuki philosophy.  This scholarship recognizes Suzuki families who demonstrate excellence in applying Suzuki principles to their family life and musical practice, such as:

  • Recognition that all children have talent and unlimited capacity,
  • Cultivation of artistic appreciation within the program and in the community; and  
  • Practice of service in the community and within the Aber Suzuki Center.

Eligibility: 

Families receiving this scholarship will meet the following criteria:

  • Have one student 12 years of age or younger who has completed at least two consecutive semesters of study at the Aber Suzuki Center;
  • Are currently enrolled;
  • Demonstrate regular attendance by the student and family member at lessons, marathons, and group lessons;
  • Practice Suzuki principles such as daily practice,  listening, and regular review;
  • Demonstrate regular participation in community outreach and performance for the Aber Suzuki Center and/or independently in the community;
  • Are current with Aber Suzuki Center tuition.

Awards guidelines:

  • The Earle and Alvina Aber Family Scholarship fund will be awarded one time per year in spring.
  • Up to five families will receive $300 per family in scholarship funds.
  • Scholarship funds will be applied to the families' summer or fall semester Aber Suzuki Center tuition.
